To celebrate 4th of July, where in London can you find the biggest American style portions, US eating contests and the most authentic New York pizza? Here’s where:
The BBQ – Big Easy
Big Easy has been serving barbeque fish and hearty meat dishes to homesick Americans for over 20 years. The venue is based on the crabshacks that popped up across the American Gulf cost in the 19th Century.
4th July event: The bar is hosting its annual “Rib Eating Competition” where ten of London’s hungriest guys and gals compete to shove as many ribs down their throats over 30 minutes. The winner will be awarded an £100 Big Easy voucher (if they can bear to look another rib in the eye ever again). The competition starts at 6pm and entry is free. There will also be an array of red, white and blue cocktails on offer and a party that promises to continue until the early hours.
US Meat Fest – Bodean’s
American meat at its best: here you can sink your teeth into juicy plates of pulled pork, ribs and chicken in an ever-buzzing atmosphere…
4th july offer: You can grab some Samuel Adams BBQ wings and wash them down with a £3 Samuel Adams 2/3 pint.
The Authentic Diner – The Diner
A classic American diner feel with a menu bursting with burger, breakfast and burrito choices at very wallet friendly prices.
Real New York Pizza – Brooklyn Bite
Brooklyn Bite offers authentic, large portioned thin-base pizzas a la New York that come in truly US-style portions. There’s also a selection of sub sandwiches and a “hidden” cocktail bar.
4th July treat: To celebrate Independence Day, for today only Brooklyn Bite are offering a complimentary Red, White & Boohoo shot with every purchase of any 12 or 18 inch pizza.
The US-style Party – All Star Lanes
All Star’s boutique bowling allows you to enjoy a private game along with “home-cooked” food, music and cocktails.
4th July event: From 1-6th July you can grab a special “East Drink Bowl” menu for £28 including a two course menu, a cocktail and a game of bowling. On the menu is the special “Independence Day Burger” topped with “Braised Pork Rib End Meat” and “American Cheese served with Sweet Potato Fries”, “Sticky Short Beef Rib with Creamed Potatoes” and “Sweet Potato and Vanilla Pecan Pie”.
The American Brasserie – Automat
Eating contests and greasy burgers don’t float your boat? If you fancy something a bit classier you can see in the 4th of July at Automat, where London’s pleasure seeking appetite and New York style collide. Automat aims to capture the culture and life enjoyed by Londoners in the US city.
American Burritos – Chipotle
American Grill Chipotle first popped up in the US in 1993 and has since expanded across the pond. Chipotle serves up Burritos produced with naturally raised pork, beef and chicken.
