When treating your pa to a Father’s Day lunch this Sunday, make sure you pick the place that’s right for him. MenuSpring has hand picked a suitable dining place for every type of dad.
Carnivore Dad – Hawksmoor, Guildhall, Seven Dials, Spitalfields
He’ll want nothing else than a slab of meat from the best steak restaurant in London.
Sunday roast with all the trimmings, £19.50
Hipster Dad – Street Feast, Camden Town Brewery
This trendy Londoner won’t be up for the typical Sunday lunch that everyone else is doing, he’d prefer a street feast at the Friday night market at Camden Town Brewery.
Along with a pint from the brewery, edible treats on offer include “Hardcore Prawn”, “Bhangra Burger” and “The Ribman” to name just a few.
Foodie Dad – Heston’s Dinner restaurant, Hyde Park, London
Take pa somewhere where his tastebuds are sure to get the work out they demand.
Set three course lunch menu: example courses include “Ragoo of Pigs Ears with Anchovy and Parsley”, £32
The Vegan Dad – 42°Raw, Burlington Gardens
Using only 100% plant based foods, the philosophy of 42°Raw is that food must be served in its most natural state. So there’s no hint of sugar, dairy, preservatives, colouring (of course the absence of meat goes without saying).
Tapas: a selection of real raw food specialities including lasagna, an avocado sandwich and thai noodles, £11.
Hedge Fund Dad – Hibiscus, 29 Maddox Street
He’s used to fine dining so whatever you’re offering on his special day has to be top notch. Try Claude Bosi’s French restaurant Hibiscus, boasting raving press reviews, father is set to be so impressed he might even look up from his Blackberry.
Health Freak Dad – Food for Thought, Covent Garden
You know he’s watching the calories so treat him to a nutrious bowl of unprocessed, unmicrowaved, non-frozen vegetables.
Lazy Dad – Pizza takeaway Firezza
He’s just too lazy to prise himself off the sofa and go out for lunch. He’d much prefer a tasty pizza delivered straight into his arms. Firezza recently won the PAPA Industry awards 2011. That is the prize was given by the Pizza, Pasta and Italian Food Association, not a group of dads mind, although we’re sure it’ll be a winner for him too.
Celeb Dad – China Tang at the Dorchester
China Tang is set to wow even a hard to faze celebrity dad. Offering some of the most authentic Cantonese food outside of China and quirky art deco interiors. Plus there’s a bar with those all-important cocktails, he’ll love it – If he’s actually jetted into town this week that is.
Lunch menu, including a glass of vino and dishes including duck pancakes and “Ho Fun Noodles with Beef or Chicken in Black Bean Sauce”, £23
