Magnum’s new London pop up ice cream bar gives visitors an opportunity to check into the “Pleasure Pod”, a device which gets your body’s pleasure reaction to food and transforms it into a rather groovy (is the only way to describe it sorry), visual artwork.

Our food heros: Bompas & Parr with the pod

Bringing together the worlds of food, science and art, the “Pleasure Pod” is allegedly the world’s first bio-responsive food installation, conceptualised by renowned culinary architects Bompas and Parr. By hooking up your pulse to a series of wires and machines, the pod can measure the intense sensations you experience when eating something pleasurable (in this case an ice cream). The pod then produces a bespoke digital artwork of your body’s reaction projecting it across the inside wall.
