José is a proper bar with proper tapas and proper sherry – all good
Lamb meatballs in tomato sauce were also a cut above the norm, and head-on sardines were as fresh as if they'd just come off the boat
I won’t rule the food here is top-notch but the kitchen has great potential and delivers something comforting and of highly respectable standard
I sucked down deliciously dry sherry while we gorged, an early doors licensing quirk meant no booze without food, on a couple of the delicious tapa from behind the counter
The flavour released by chewing was nonetheless blissful and it was a very generous serving - perhaps too generous - for £9
